More of Nana and Papa

We were fortunate to have my mom and dad here for almost 3 weeks!  In that time, they got to spend some quality time with their granddaughter and I got to show some of Boston off to them.  Even though it was in the middle of winter, we still were able to get out and about.  They left yesterday, Tuesday 2/25, and we miss them dearly already.  Waking up with them and having chai and breakfast made it feel like we weren't living so far away from them.  Their presence is surely being missed.  They were such help and we appreciate them very very very much!!! We love you Nana and Papa!
On our way to go shopping... 2/21/14
Nice cold sunny winter day...took the parents to the "hahbah" aka the harbor
We had so many laughs walking to the water...we must have almost slipped on ice like a million times.
Too cold to bring Makayla so thanks to Dad for watching her!

LOVE THEM!
Don't let the sun fool ya...it was like 30 degrees out!

Happy Valentine's Day

Today was Makayla's first Valentine's Day!  Mike and I could have taken advantage of having my parents in town to go out and celebrate, but we chose to spend the day with our little sweetheart.  I had purchased a multiple session photo card with a photographer on base so we decided to use it for the first time.  We then came home and had a relaxing dinner with my parents and Makayla.  She has definitely made our Valentine's Day sweeter!

One Month!!!

It's hard to believe that Makayla turned 1 month old today when she was actually supposed to be due this past weekend.  Mike and I are just so in love with her.  We love seeing her change on a daily basis.  She's starting to have more awake time and is noticing the world around her...especially her mommy and daddy.  Love you honey bunny!!!

Awards Banquet

One of the many things I love about my husband is that he has such a good work ethic and I'm not the only one that sees that in him.  I'm always amazed when I see all these awards of his.  The past two years that we have been at Hanscom AFB he has won awards and been recognized for his achievement at the squadron level.  In addition, last year, Mike was nominated for Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year, which is an award recognized at the base level.  Sadly, he didn't win, but it was an honor to be nominated.  And yet again, this year he was nominated once more.  However, history repeated itself and although he had been awarded at the squadron level again, he fell short of the annual NCO award.  With being nominated, Mike gets a whole week of different activities around Boston such as a private tour of Fenway Park and the TD Garden.  This year, since we had Makayla I stayed home for most of the events, but we were fortunate enough to have my parents in town during that week so Mike and I were able to attend the awards banquet.  It was our first night out together since having Makayla and it was such fun.  It was great seeing Mike being acknowledged again.  I hope Makayla inherits Mike's drive to succeed.  Keep up the hard work honey!  We're proud of you, always!
